James Suckling is one of the most influential wine critics all over the world. After being editor of “Wine Spectator”, he created his own website where he publishes awards and reports about the tastings he conducts in different countries.

Last July, Suckling and his team traveled to Spain to taste over 1,200 Spanish wines. One of these wines was Senda 66 Tempranillo, awarded with an outstanding score, 92 points.

Senda 66 Tempranillo is made from old vines, over 25 years on average. All vines are carefully selected among the states located in Casas de los Pinos owned by Candelaria.

This area is highly recognized for the high quality of the red grapes harvested here, especially Tempranillo variety, which is cultivated in poor soils. These characteristics, along with the weather conditions in the area, provide for top-quality wines.

When tasting, its intense cherry color is the first remarkable feature, followed by balanced and spicy aromatic notes on the nose and fleshy on the palate.
